OBITUARY
Frederick W. Stewart was born near Bevaly Switzerland Co., Ind., in the
year 1881 and died near Hammon, Okla., July 16, 1907.  (Buried Red Hill
Cemetery, Roger Mills County).
He was the son of Robert F. and Lucinda S. Stewart, formerly of Ryker's
Ridge, Ind., who removed to Iowa about two years ago where Mr. Stewart who
was then an invalid was placed in care of two sons who are practicing
physicians in that state.  He died shortly after his removal and his wife
survived him little more than a year.
Fred, as he was formerly called by his many friends, had lived in Okla.,
for nearly six years, he and a brother owning adjoining claims near
Hammon.  He suffered a brief but painful illness of a little more than two
weeks during which time the beauty of his exceptionally gentle, noble and
loving character seemed to reach its highest perfection.
His fine sensibilities, purity of habits and taste in selection set him
apart in the community in which he lived as a model.  He was the special
friend of children; never too busy or too much absorbed to give them a
smile and a kind word.
He realized his critical condition and expressed doubts of his recovery
without fear of death.  His sufferings were borne with the greatest
courage and patience.  During his conscious moments he never failed to
acknowledge services rendered him by those attending him.
He was cognizant when death came and his last expression was a loving
good-bye to the brother and sisters who watched with aching hearts the
departure of the spirit they loved so well.
