Mrs. Emma Stockwell, fifty six years of age, wife of A. W. Stockwell, whose home is on Jefferson street of this city, died Friday morning, May 23, with a complication of bowel diseases which she has had for years. The Stockwell family have been citizens of Elk City, and vicinity for ten years, having come here from Missouri, and are widely and favorably known. Mrs. Stockwell has long lived a devoted Christian life, having been a member of the Church of Christ for many years, and was noted for her sympathies and assistance for the poor and distressed. She leaves a husband, A. W. Stockwell, and two sons and two daughters, besides a host of friends to mourn her loss.
