All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ STOVALL, OSCAR (Jan 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): OSCAR STOVALL DEAD After several week's illness of typhoid fever, Oscar Stovall passed away at his home in Oklahoma City last Friday afternoon, January 7th. Mr. Stovall will be remembered by many Elk City people, as he was a former resident here, being foreman at the freight depot of the W.F. & M.W., also before that had been in the picture show business and for several years was City Marshal here. About twelve years ago he was married to Miss Kate Scannell who survives him. Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at Oklahoma City, conducted by Rev. H. C. Williams, pastor of the University Place Christian church. Services at grave were conducted according to Masonic ritual by Siloam Lodge No. 276. Interment was made at Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Scannell of this city have been at the Stovall home for a couple of weeks. His step-mother is seriously ill in that city. Another brother-in-law, Geo.
