STRATTON, MARTHA
(22 May 1924, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
MRS. J. M. STRATTON DEAD
After an illness of many months, Mrs. J. M. Stratton died at her home in
Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, May 8th.  Mr. and Mrs. Stratton were
pioneers near Carpenter and only moved to California last year thinking
the change would be beneficial to her health.  She was in the 74th year of
her age.  Her husband and ten children survive, one son, Edgar Stratton,
living at Carpenter.
Mrs. Stratton was a beautiful character.  She was a most devoted wife and
mother, a good neighbor and a true friend to all.  She had a large circle
of friends who mourn because of her passing away.
The husband and children have the deepest sympathy of all.  (Note:  For
