(Feb 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Alfred C. Streit died in Oklahoma City February 17, 1929. Burial was made in Fairlawn cemetery on February 20. Rev. John Tracy of the Presbyterian church, conducted the services. The Masonic order of Elk City buried the body with the lodge ritual. Grubitz & Son, funeral directors had charge of the arrangements. Alfred C. Streit, who has recently moved with his wife to Oklahoma City, passed away at the Wesley hospital there Sunday morning at 9:30. Influenza was the cause of his death. Mr. Streit has resided in and near Elk City for the past several years and is well known and liked. He is a brother of John F. Streit of this place, who has been at his bedside for a week preceeding his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alfred C. Streit, two sisters, Misses Clara and Flora Streit of Dayton, two brothers, Arthur Streit of Dayton, Ohio and Mr. J. F. Streit of Elk City. His body was shipped here for burial, arriving Tuesday evening. The funeral was held in the Grubitz chapel at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, the Masons having charge. Rev. John A. Tracy officiated.
