All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ STROUD, HATTIE LORENA (5 May 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Arthur Stroud of Hex Union Grade was buried at Delhi Cemetery April 26, after suffering with typhoid fever, so we were informed. Her sister had been a constant sufferer from the malady for fifty days, and Mrs. Stroud was a constant aid at her bedside, and later she contracted the contagion, to which she succumbed. Others in the family are still suffering from the malady, so we are told. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Nichols, a life long friend of the family, and the song service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Walker, pastor of the Delhi Baptist Church. Friends and acquaintances were almost innumerable who came to pay a last respect to the deceased and to console the loving relatives whose hearts were torn with grief.
