(29 Apr 1926, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
OBITUARY
C. Z. Taliaferro was born Dec. 3, 1848, and died April 28, 1926, in Elk
City, Okla., at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 25 days.  He was married
to Sarah Elizabeth Spencer in the year 1877.  To this happy union were
born 10 children, 9 of whom survive, and were present during his illness
and death.  Three boys and six girls.
Bro. Taliaferro was converted and united with the Methodist church 38
years ago and lived a faithful christian life.  He left to mourn his loss
besides his dear wife and children, 19 grandchildren and one great
grandchild and a host of friends.
He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends, but death
called and he slipped away.  A useful life is closed, a chair is vacant, a
voice stilled, nine children grown to manhood and womanhood are grieving
for a father, sweetened and mellowed as age bowed him.  He was a pioneer
of the Hefner community, reared his children and eight of them reside in
that community, one daughter who lives in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services were conducted at the Broadway Methodist Church, Rev.
Newman, officiating, with Grubitz and son in charge and his remains were
laid to rest in the Fairlawn cemetery to await the resurrection morning.

sympathy shown during the sickness and death of our dear husband and
father and the Canute choir that means so much to us for the beautiful
