(17 Jan 1907, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): RESOLUTIONS WHEREAS, our Creator in His divine wisdom has seen cause to remove from us our highly respected and beloved brother, J. R. Taylor, who died at his home two miles north of Lone Star School House, December 11, 1905 (cemetery has 1906), and was burried (sic) in the Berlin cemetery (Roger Mills County) the evening of the 12. His funeral was preached at the cemetery by Bro. J. H. Watson. Bro. Taylor moved to this county one year ago last January from Denton county, Texas. He was a Christian man. He belonged to the Baptist church at Lone Star, also a member of the Lone Star Union No. 423. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we extend our sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives, knowing that God who doeth all things well, is able to sustain them in their sorrow. Blessed be God; he has gone where all are united around the Fathers throne forever. Bro. Taylor leaves a wife and eight children to mourn their loss. But their loss is his gain. Then loved ones weep not for him, he is not dead, but just living with God and the angels. R. P. Watson W. B. Wear. Committee. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
