TAYLOR, NANCY
(27 Nov 1919, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
GOOD WOMAN PASSES AWAY AT CHEYENNE.
We were grieved last week when we learned of the death of that sainted
woman, Mrs. Nancy Taylor, of Sayre., whom we had known and loved so many
years.  We never went over to Sayre but what we wanted to go and see
Grandma, and she always seemed so glad to see us.  We feel it was with her
as someone remarked when they heard of her death, that she just stepped
into heaven.  She was such a grand good woman.
The Cheyenne Star last week spoke of her death as follows:
A gloom was cast over the community southwest of town as well as over our
little city last Tuesday morning when the announcement of the death of
Grandma Taylor came.
Grandma Taylor was the saintly mother of our good friend, George H.
Dodgion.  Her life was full of good deeds always taking sunshine with her
wherever she went.  Her life was inspirational to those who strive to live
the Christian life.  She had reached a ripe old age, but her life counted
for a great deal in the community because during the last few years her
life was devoted wholly to the Master's work, her religion being almost
her entire thought and work.
A few days ago she left her home at Sayre and came to the home of her son,
Geo. Dodgion, to spend her last days.  She peacefully went to meet her
Lord last Monday evening about 6 o'clock while sitting in a rocker by the
fire, at which time she surely heard the welcome plaudit, "Well done good
and faithful servant, enter thou into the joys of thy Lord."
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Randall in the presence of many
friends after which the body was laid to rest in the Cheyenne cemetery
(Roger Mills County).
