TEAKELL, R. P.
(4 Feb 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Mr. R. P. Teakle (sic) was born in Ala. August 5th, 1852.  He moved to
Texas at the age of 17 and married Miss Anna Webster at the age of 22.  To
this union were born ten children, six girls and four boys.  He died at
the home of Elin, his youngest son, near Berlin.  Luther of Berlin and
Louis of Clovis, N. M., and Viola Hendrix of Plymouth, Texas, Archie in N.
M., Rufus of Sayre, Okla., Anna of Qail, Texas, and Georgia Sasser of
Whiteburrough, Tex.
Mr. Teakle was added to the church of Christ in 1885 and died January 31,
1926.  Mr. Isom conducted the funeral services at the church, where a
large crowd was in attendance.  He was laid to rest in the Berlin cemetery
at 3 o'clock p.m. (Roger Mills County).  The bereaved ones have the
sympathy of the entire community.
