(7 Apr 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): MRS. ANDY THOMAS Eula Jenetta Palmer Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Palmer, was born July 15, 1903, died March 20, 1927; aged 23 years, 8 months and five days. In 1924 she was united in marriage to Andy Thomas. To this union was born two children. She leaves a husband and two sons, Charles Richard, two and one-half years old, and Sherman Allan, age 3 weeks, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Palmer, one brother and one sister, and a host of relatives and friends. Death is ever an unwelcome visitor, but when it comes to rob the helpless infants of the loving and tender care of a devoted mother, a dark gloom is spread over the community for there is a vacancy in the home that never can be filled. Though her life journey covered but a brief span of twenty-three years, it was a path marked with deeds of kindness and cheer, with flowers, but not thorns, sunshine, not shadows did she scatter everywhere. In her early girlhood she was converted and joined the Methodist Church and ever since lived a consecrated Christian life. The grave holds only what was mortal of her; her soul is with God. She is waiting for the ones she loved the best and will gladly hail their coming to the city of the blest. One by one the Lord will call us as our work on earth is done, and then as we cross the river, we shall meet her. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
