THOMPSON, CHOLE
(10 May 1923, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Chole Thompson wife of Geo. Thompson and daughter of D. P. McDonald
was born at Millville, Mo., December 11th, 1888, and passed to the great
beyond to receive her reward, May 4th, 1923.
When a child she left her native state with her parents and came to
western Oklahoma where she spent the remaining years of her life.  On
December 6th, 1905, Mrs. Thompson was united in marriage with George
Thompson.  To this devoted couple were born four children, three of whom
preceded their mother to the glory world.
Several years ago Mrs. Thompson confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and
became a member of the Christian church.  Her christian life was one of
sincere faith and good works.  She proved herself to be affectionate wife
and mother also an industrious home maker.  The love and esteem in which
she was held, was intensified and deepened and broadened in her own home
for here, she was a friend, a comrade, a kind, a devoted and indulgent
mother and a loving wife.
Her mother was taken from her when she was eleven years of age and she
became the homekeeper for her father, and cared for her little brother
Robert with a mother's love.  She was so proud of him as he came to
manhood.
The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Christian
Church where the house was crowded to pay tribute of love and respect for
one they loved.  Rev. Lemmex had charge of the service.  The interment in
charge of Grubitz & Son was made in Thompson cemetery (Custer County) by
the side of her children.  Here another large crowd was awaiting and there
all that was mortal of wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend was laid to
rest beneath a bed of flowers.
Deepest sympathy is extended the bereaved ones by all in which the News
Democrat family wishes to join.
