All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ TISDAL, NEDON ROBERT (27 May 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Nedon Robert Tisdal was born September 2, 1863, in Hot Springs, Arkansas and departed this life in Elk City, Oklahoma, May 22, 1926. Having reached to age of sixty-two years, eight months and twenty days. While he was yet a child his parents moved to the state of Texas and settled in Fannan (sic) county where he lived until grown. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Hawkins in the year 1889. To this union one child was born, Juanita Worsham of Decater, Illinois. On July nineteenth 1904, he was married to Virginia Ball of Ft. Worth, Texas. To this union four children were given; Reese Stewart, Nedon Robert, Jr., Ruth Minor and Josaphene. At the early age of nineteen he united with the Methodist Episcopal church, South in which he lived and labored until the Supreme Master called him home. For a continuous period of forty-two years he served as steward in his church. He was twice honored by being elected as a Lay delegat (sic) to the General Conference which meets quadrennially. Once, however, ill health prevented his attending the session of the conference. For five years he served in the capacity of District Lay leader doing a noble work in this field. He was an honored member of the Masonic Fraternity, having received all the degrees in York Rite Masonary, and served as commander in chief of the Sons of the Confederacy. He leaves a wife, three daughters, two sons, three sisters and a host of friends and acquaintances to mourn his departure. He was prepared for the great voyage across the uncharted and unknown sea, and it held no dread for him, but to the end his abiding desire was to live in order that he might render yet more service in the Master's kingdom. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. E. C. Webb of the Broadway Methodist Church, and burial was with the beautiful and impressive ceremony of the Masonic Lodge.
