TISDAL DEAD. T. D. Tisdal, father of Mrs. J. A. Jester and uncle of Dr. V. C. Tisdal, died at Cordell last Friday. He was well known to many of our people, as he often visited here, and had made many warm friends in our city. Funeral services were held at Cordell Saturday afternoon, the burial services being conducted by the Masonic Lodge of which he had been a member for forty years. Grandpa Tisdal was seventy-seven years old. He was born in McNary Co. Tennessee, leaving there when twelve years of age for Arkansas, where he lived for thirty years, then he went to Texas. Fifteen years ago he came to Oklahoma. His wife died three years ago last December. He joined the M. E. Church South when just a boy and was a faithful soldier of the Cross. He enjoyed a rich christian experience and gave constant proof of his dicipleship of Jesus Christ. Five daughters are left to mourn the loss of a precious father: Mrs. J. A. Jester, Elk City, Mrs. Good Cooper, Texas, Mrs. Kiddo, Kaffin, Kansas, Mrs. Cochran and Mrs. Armfield, Cordell. There were all with him during his last illness. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
