When three years old he moved with his parents to Hickory, Oklahoma, and then to near Grimes, Roger Mills County, on July 27th, 1903, where he died June 20th, aged 29 years, 10 months and 23 days. He was married to Miss Millie Repass of Grimes, April 12, 1914, who is left with a little two year old daughter, Neva Lareon, to mourn the loss of a most devoted husband and father. The aged parents survive, also four sisters and five brothers; all but one, Miss (sic) Effie Lee, of Hickory, live near Grimes and all were present at the death and funeral of this beloved brother. They are Mrs. Candace Smith, Mrs. Bessie Smith, Mrs. Leah Olson, Mrs. Effie Lee, James, Luther (Bluford's twin), Hullum, William, and John Turbyfill. Funeral services were held at the Dempsey school house, Rev. French Lancaster of Shattuck, Okla., a brother-in-law, speaking words of comfort to the bereaved relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Dempsey cemetery. In the death of Bluford Turbyfill, the Grimes community has lost one of the best men. He was a man of worthy ideals and good character - just such a man as every community needs, and his passing out of the life of their people will be keenly felt. He was stricken with typhoid fever about two weeks before his death. Everything was done that the skill of his physician, or the sympathy and sacrifice of family and friends could suggest or devise, but it seemed no human hand could hold him here. When the call came he was ready for he was a christian man. He joined the Methodist church at Grimes in 1909, and had ever lived true to his faith. He was a good citizen, a kind neighbor, a modest and unassuming man.
