(7 Feb 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF R. H. TURNER R. H. Turner, aged 89 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. N. Glasgow, Monday, February 4th. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the daughter's home and burial was had at the Ural cemetery, in charge of M. L. Chandler. Grandpa Turner was born in Tennessee, where he married. He and his wife lived together nearly fifty years. They moved to Texas in 1852 and to Oklahoma in 1895. Mrs. Turner died in 1903. Four children survive, Mrs. J. H. Winton, Fresno, California; Mrs. M. H. Neeley, Gainsville, Texas; Mrs. W. N. Glasgow, Elk City and J. E. Turner of Cordell. The deceased is the last member of his father's family, he having had seven brothers. In early life he identified himself with the M. E. Church, South, and ever lived a true christian.
