All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ VANDERSLICE, ALICE (8 Nov 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services were held for Mrs. Alice Vanderslice Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church when Rev. John Tracy conducted the services. Mrs. Vanderslice died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. I. Wimberly of Elk City, November 2, 1928, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 26 days. Her death followed a brief illness of about a week. Interment was made at Fairlawn cemetery with Gentry-Killough, funeral directors in charge. Mrs. Vanderslice was born in Georgia, August 6, 1853. She was married to William Vanderslice in Tulip, Ark., in 1881. She and her husband have lived in Elk City for 19 years. Recently they have made their home with their daughter Mrs. W. I. Wimberly. The deceased was affiliated with the Presbyterian church while quite young and has lived a Christian life. She and her husband have a large number of friends in the community. Those who survive Mrs. Vanderslice are: William Vanderslice, her husband, her children, W. A. Vanderslice of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. O. L. Stewart of Lindsey, Mrs. W. I. Wimberly of Elk City, Mrs. Essie Vanderslice of Kansas City, Mo., S. F.
