She died at Clinton, Oklahoma, May 10, 1929, at the age of 28 years, 11 months and 8 days. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church May 11, 1929, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. J. A. Tracy officiated. Interment was made at Fairlawn cemetery. Gentry-Killough directors, were in charge. (6 Jun 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Sarah Edward Vanderslice was born in Lewistown, Pa., June 2, 1900, and died in Clinton, Oklahoma, May 10, 1929. She was united in married to S. E. Vanderslice October 11, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio. To this union was born two children, a daughter Bernice who preceded her mother in death, and a son Bobby who makes his home with his aunt, Mrs. W. I. Wimberly of this city. Besides her husband and small son she leaves two sisters and two brothers, all of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Vanderslice was converted at an early age and united with the Episcopalian church of Lewistown, Pa., of which church she was still a member. During the last few months of her illness she studied her Bible closely. She lived her religion daily, and bore her illness and suffering as only a true Christian can. She is gone, but a beautiful memory of her lives on. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 11, at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. J. A. Tracy officiating.
