All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ WELLS, GEORGIE ANNE (4 Mar 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Georgie Anne Wells, resident of this city for the past 22 years, died early this morning at her home on West Ninth street after an illness of several years. Mrs. Wells, with her husband, Joseph Wells and children, came to Elk City from Missouri in 1908. She was born in Bath County, near Owensville, Kentucky, in 1876, where she lived until she was carried (married?), moving then to Kansas, later moving to Missouri and finally coming to Elk City where she lived until her death. Mrs. Wells was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, South, being converted to that faith when a young lady. Surviving Mrs. Wells are five children, four girls and a son. They are: Mrs. John Turbyfield, Mrs. Jim Bonds, Mrs. H. J. Fahey, Mrs. A. E. Smith, all of this city and W. M. Wells, of Waldron, Ark., who will arrive here tomorrow. Two sons, Dallas and Ebb Wells, preceeded Mrs. Wells in death. Both died within the past two years. Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Wells Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Broadway Methodist church, South, with the pastor, Rev. E. C. Webb, officiating.
