CLAUDE WHEELER DEAD Mrs. Claude Wheeler died this morning from blood poisoning, the funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Ural. Mr. Wheeler had gone to New York with a load of poultry for Swift & Co., and will not arrive home until tomorrow noon. She leaves several little children. CLAUDE WHEELER Maggie Blanch Sullivan was born in Montague county, Texas, May 30, 1886, died in Elk City, Okla., February 10, 1921, aged 35 years, 8 months and 11 days. She came to Oklahoma about 20 years ago and was married to Claude Wheeler May 29, 1902. Four children were born to this union, who with the husband, are left to mourn her loss. The youngest child, Jewel, was six years old Thursday, the day her mother passed away. The other children are Clyde, aged sixteen, Alta, aged fourteen, and Warren, aged ten years. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Sullivan, one brother, M. Sullivan of Jennings, Okla., three sisters, Mrs. Biddie Gibbons of Stratford, Texas, Mrs. Katie Allen of Carter and Mrs. May Spear of near Elk City. The deceased joined the Baptist church when seventeen years of age. She was such a lover of children and they loved to be in her home. She was a good neighbor and friend and devoted mother and wife. Before passing away she called the children to her admonishing them to be good and help papa. The husband had made a trip to New York for Swift & Co., and while in that city received a telegram of the serious illness of his wife, and while on the return trip received the message of her death. I. P. Crisp, as a brother from I.O.O.F. Lodge, C. A. Wheeler and A. Speer went to El Reno to meet Mr. Wheeler, accompanying him home Friday at noon. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Hamilton. Interment was made in Ural cemetery with Grubitz & Son in charge. The husband, children and relatives have the deepest sympathy of all in their sorrow. (18 Feb 1921, Elk City Press, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. Mrs. Claude Wheeler died after several days' illness last Thursday, Feb. 10, 1921. Claude Wheeler, her husband, was on his way to New York with a car load of chickens, but a telegram reached him at Chicago, and he secured a man to take his place and he returned immediately and will arrive home Friday noon. The funeral of Mrs. Wheeler was conducted by Rev. Hamilton of the Baptist Church at 3 P.M. Michael Sullivan of Jennings, Okla., arrived Tuesday night to be with his sister. Mrs. Wheeler was a sister-in-law of Tom Hollis of Elk City.
