S. White was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, September 9, 1861, and died at Elk City, Oklahoma, December 26, 1925, at the age of sixty-four years, three months and seventeen days. When only a month old his parents moved to Hunters Bottom, Kentucky, and in that blue grass country he was reared to manhood. The family went to live at Mulberry Kansas in 1883 and it was there at the old home that Mr. and Mrs. White spent the first few years of their married life. While connected with the Rock Island railroad at Fort Worth, Mr. White met and married Lena M. Boyd and they immediately moved to the farm home. They went to Amarillo in 1906 where they spent less than a year, then moved to Duncan, Oklahoma, where they made their home until they came to Elk City in 1916. Mr. White was connected with the Pittsburg Mortgage Company here until a few years ago when he severed his connection with that company and went into business for himself. He was apparently in excellent health with the exception of an occasional attack of stomach trouble and even his closest friends and relatives did not realize his serious condition until the last attack about two weeks ago, from which he never recovered. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, South, Monday, December twenty-eighth with interment at Fairlawn cemetery. RESOLUTIONS OF SYMPATHY Whereas: The great Sovereign of the universe in his infinite wisdom has called to eternal rest our beloved Sovereign, William S. White, therefore, be it: Resolved: That we, Elk City Camp No. 66, Woodmen of the World, extend to his wife and family our heartfelt sympathy in this their hour of sorrow, and express the hope that the knowledge of Sovereign White's goodness and purity may in a measure mitigate their sorrow, and be it further, Resolved: That these resolutions be made a part of the records of this camp, also they be published in our local newspapers, and be it further Resolved: That our charter remain draped in mourning for a period of thirty days.
