She was taken ill with flu Monday and pneumonia developed immediately. She was too frail to stand the ravages of disease and passed away on Friday, March 2nd. Miss White had been in poor health for many years having come to Oklahoma twenty years ago, thinking the change of climate would prove beneficial, and it did, for her life was prolonged much longer than she, herself had expected. She became a member of the M. E. Church, South, early in life and was a consistent christian until the end. A devoted brother and sister, O. L. and Miss Pauline White, with whom she made her home, another brother, Dr. White of Decatur, Georgia, and a sister at Columbia, S. C., are left to mourn the loss of a loved one. Funeral services were held at the home, Rev. DeVore officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in Fairlawn cemetery. The News Democrat joins the host of friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family. (16 Mar 1923, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. Miss N.
