Wolfe, son of William and Nancy A. Wolfe was born near Smithsburg, Maryland, October 3, 1865 (sic). He died at his home near Elk City, April 24, 1929. When a young man he emigrated to Illinois and lived there until March, 1888. He went from Illinois to Nebraska with his brother Will and was married there to Priscilla E. Zollman in December, 1890. In 1903 they came to Oklahoma where they have lived the past twenty-six years. Mr. Wolfe was an obliging neighbor and a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his friends and acquaintances. Obituary. John Calvin Wolfe was born near Smithsburg, Washington County, Maryland, October 3rd, 1856. Died April 24th, 1929, age 72 years, 6 months and 21 days. He was married to Priscilla E. Zollman at Schuyler, Nebraska, December 24th, 1890. To this union were born five children, Lester F., Adrian C. Wolfe and Mrs. Clarence Scott of Elk City, Gilbert Wolfe of Butte, Montana, and Mrs. Fred Lopez of Modesto, California, all of whom were at the bedside of their father when death came. He also leaves to mourn his departure five grand children and four brothers and one sister, Charles C. and Harry E. Wolfe and Mrs. Mollie V. Warrenfelts of Smithsburg, Md., William L. Wolfe of Schuyler, Nebraska and Howard J. Wolfe of Ames, Nebraska, besides other relatives and a host of friends. In 1923 under the ministry of Rev. Hefley, Mr. Wolfe joined the First Methodist Episcopal church at Elk City and remained a faithful member of the same until his death. It was not his privilege on account of his physical condition to attend the church services as regularly as he had desired. He died in the hope of his Savior, now awaiting his loved ones and friends in the glory land. The funeral was held April 25, 1929, in the First Methodist church with Rev. A. S. Kattner officiating.
