"Bud" Services for Leroy Woods will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Bible Baptist Church of Elk City, officiated by Pastor Dave Worsham. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Leroy S. "Bud" Woods was born January 27, 1920 in Miller, to Nora and Lescher Woods and died Saturday, February 16, 2002 in Presbyterian Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 82. Leroy married Odessa Spiva and they lived in Oklahoma until moving to California in 1944. He worked a a truck driver for a roofing company before going to work as a roofer. He retired in 1978 and returned to Oklahoma where he made his home in Elk City. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Elk City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Wayne Woods, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son, Stan Woods and wife Barbara of Whittier, California; one sister, Nellie Knight; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
