V. I. WORLEY DIES HERE TODAY Funeral Services will probably Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon. Mrs. V. I. Worley, one of the pioneers of this city, died at six o'clock this morning following an operation which she underwent yesterday in a local hospital. Funeral services will probably be held tomorrow afternoon at the Presbyterian church, members of the family announced today. Mrs. Worley had lived here for twenty years. She had been active in many social and civic organizations up until recent years and held important offices in several of the clubs. Mrs. Worley was born Jan. 2, 1885, in Kansas and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Clinkscales, to Tecumseh, Okla., when a year old. She was married in that city and came here with her husband. Since that time she has watched the development of Elk City and has added materially to projects started for community good. Joined Church. When quite a young girl Mrs. Worley became a member of the Presbyterian church and has been active in the affairs of that organization since coming. Because of her long residence here she was looked to as one of the first citizens and commanded a long list of friends. Mrs. Worley became suddenly ill at her home at Second and Main streets Monday night. Early Tuesday morning she was rushed to a local hospital where a major operation was performed. Her condition was reported as doubtful late yesterday afternoon and a turn for the worse was noticed later in the evening. Mrs. Worley is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Vera Hunter, a small daughter, Nell Joyce, and two brothers, S. E. Clinkscales of Vallejo, Calif., and Bryce Clinkscales of Pitcher, Okla.
