(16 Sep 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
OLD SETTLER HERE DIED AT SHAWNEE
News reached the city yesterday that J. A. Yarbrough had died at his home
in Shawnee, and those who knew him so well were saddened by the news.
Mr. Yarbrough lived in Elk City many years and was rated as one of the
most substantial citizens of the town, loved and respected by all who knew
him.
A son John taught in the local schools last year but gave up the position
this year that he might be with his father who has been in poor health for
some time.
Friends of the family extend them sympathy.
