YOUNG, JAMES DOW
(31 May 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
JAMES DOW YOUNG
Jimmie Dow Young youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Young, of Berlin
(Roger Mills County), was born May 19, 1893, near Mangum, where Brinkman
now stands.  With his parents moved to near El Reno when he was fourteen
months of age then later going to Lewisville, Texas, where they lived
until Jimmie was five years old when they moved to Berlin, Okla., where he
had since made his home.  He grew to manhood on the old homestead two
miles west and one-half mile south of Berlin.  When nineteen years of age
he married Miss Annie Sandusky on April 19, 1912.  To this union six
children were born, five girls and one boy.
He had been a great sufferer for several months and everything that could
be done was done for him but to no avail.  He underwent an operation last
Thursday at nine o'clock, but did not revive from same.  He was converted
on his death bed and said for all his loved ones to meet him in heaven. 
He had many friends among the people he knew, and was a hard working young
man.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Lackey were held Friday afternoon and
interment made in Berlin cemetery where a large crowd gathered to pay
their last respects to their friend and show their sympathy to the deeply
bereaved relatives.
He is survived by his wife and six children, his aged parents, three
brothers, C. A. Young of Grimes, Okla., Rollie A. Young of Charlie, Texas,
and R. B. Young of Edmond, Oklahoma, and one sister, Miss Myrtle Young of
Berlin, Oklahoma.
The Democrat joins with the many friends in extending deepest sympathy to
the sorrowing ones.
