All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ ZIEGENFUSS, EMMA MARY (24 Jul 1924, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Emma Mary Ziegenfus (sic), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ziegenfus, born in Carroll County, Iowa, May 5, 1892, and died in Elk City, July 15th, 1924, aged 32 years, 2 months and 10 days. She was baptized in the Catholic Church when a babe. She attended the St. Peter and Paul Institute while in Carroll, Iowa. Sixteen years ago the family moved to a farm near Canute, Okla., where Emma was known by many and loved and respected by all. For awhile she was at the W. B. Hedlund home in Elk City and those who knew her here speak so highly of her sweet christian character, her kind and amiable manners and cheerful disposition that was characteristic of her through life. Funeral services were held at Shidel Church, at nine o'clock Thursday morning, July 17th, conducted by Rev. Herenthal. The pall bearers were Alois Mann, Joe Schreck, Tony and John Killhoffer, Ed and Joe Chervenka. Many beautiful floral offerings were on the casket, gifts from sympathizing friends. A large number of friends were in attendance at the services showing the great respect held for the deceased and family. Besides the parents she leaves three brothers and seven sisters, Mrs. Anna L. Speiker, Minnie, Elizabeth, Christina, Mary, Katherine, John, Joe and Edward. (Note: Only six sisters named).
