(2 Jan 1908, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Sister Rebecca A. Abla, died at her home south of Erick, on the 30th of December at 8 a.m. The good women (sic) had been sick for near a month, with slow fever. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom are left with a heart broken husband to mourn her death. She was in her 45th year when she fell asleep in Jesus. This subject, was a faithful wife, devoted mother and consecrated christian, a member of the Baptist church in Erick. The funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on the 31st inst, in the present (sic) of a large crowd of sympathizing friends. We commit the bereaved ones to Him who doeth all things well, and can only hope that her children may emulate the life and loving mother. - Pastor. Abla died at her home one and a half miles south of Erick, at 9 o'clock a.m., on December 30, 1907, after a three-weeks sickness of typhoid fever. Deceased was the wife of C. W. Abla, one of the oldest settlers of this country. She was the mother of ten children - six whom live to mourn her death. Mrs. Abla was a faithful wife, devoted mother and consecrated christian. She had been a member of the Baptist church at Erick from its institution till her death. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor Rev. J. F. Elder, in the presence of a large crowd of sympathizing friends Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31st.
