P. Ackley for the past six years, died very suddenly Saturday morning. He has been blind for the last eight years. Prior to eating breakfast, Mr. Ackley went to his room and asked his father if he cared to get up for breakfast and the old gentleman replied that he would rest a while longer. When breakfast was ready Mrs. Ackley went to his room and ask him if he was ready to get up for breakfast was ready, just go ahead and eat, as he would rest awhile longer. After breakfast was over Mr. Ackley went to his room to see how he was feeling, and found him dead. He had breathed his last while the family was eating breakfast. The old gentleman's two sons, J. B. Ackley, of Wheeler, Texas, and H. B. Ackley, of Story, Texas, were phoned to and came at once. His daughter, Mrs. Mary J. Douglas and her son, Roy, at Nashville, Okla., were telegraphed and were also present at the funeral services. His remains were laid to rest the following Monday at noon in the Texola cemetery, where appropriate funeral services took place, conducted by W. R. Backman. Thus a good and noble veteran has gone on to his reward. - Texola Herald.
