Departed this life May 19th, 1929. Age 89 years, 3 months and 3 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Beard. To this union was born 3 children, one son and two daughters. None of which survive him. Brother Anderson moved from Kentucky to Illinoise (sic) and from there to Erick, Oklahoma, in the year of 1901. He was a member of the Odd Fellow's Lodge at the time of his death. He was ordained minister in the Methodist Church, to which he gave freely of his time and service in preaching to others. He helped to pioneer the work of the church in Beckham County. Was one of the first if not actually the first one to hold religious services in the town of Erick, and he held services in every community adjacent to Erick. While the stockmen and farmers were carving a civilization out of an unsettled country, such men as Brother Anderson were concerned about planting the Kingdom of god and typing the moral of a future common wealth. It can be said of him as it was said of his Lord. "He went about doing good." Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Sunday May 18th, (sic) 2 p.m. Rev. J. C. Morris officiating, with the I. O. O. F. concluding at the cemetery where he was laid away, his body to wait the resurrection. A Friend.
