(26 Feb 1925, Thursday, Texola Tribune, Texola, Beckham Co, OK): This community was brought down in sadness because of the almost sudden death of Mrs. Bryon Andruss (sic), who before her marriage one month before her death, was Bettie Lee Parks, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Parks. Her marriage to Byron Andruss occurred January 18, this year and her death on Feb. 13. The deceased was born at Whitt, Texas, and moved with her parents to Texola in January 1913. She was converted and joined the Methodist church at an early age and was always a regular attendant at the church services. Her sickness that resulted in her death was of short duration. An attack of the flu, being the cause. She thinking that she had recovered, left bed a day or so after the first attack, but this proved to be the very thing that should not have done, for she suffered a relapse and died with in a very few hours after the relapse put her back to bed. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church, by her pastor, Rev. J. N. Tinkle, assisted by Rev. J. W. Danners of the Baptist church and was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives. It is said that this was the largest crowed (sic) ever to attend a funeral services in Texola. Out of town friends and relatives to attend the funeral service were Joe Tipps and son of Mineral Wells, Texas, W. C. Parks and wife, Mrs. Frank Branson and children, Mrs. P. V. Sandlin, Will Sandlin and Bill Tipps, all of Hydro, Oklahoma, Frank Ambrewster and family of Mangum, Oklahoma, Eck Ellis and family, Erick, Oklahoma, Lovena Lewis, Sayre; M. L. Brown and family, G. O. Newton and family all of Erick, and Mrs. Ruby Hatcher of Texline, Texas. The immediate relatives of the deceased that reside here are, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Parks, Mrs. Mattie Haynes, a sister, Ben Parks, a twin brother and her husband, Byron Andress. Card of Thanks. We wish to thank our many friends for their tender kindness shown us during the sickness and death of our beloved wife, daughter and sister. Also for the beautiful floral offerings. BYRON ANDRESS G.
