M. He had been in ill health the past 10 years, had made all arrangements, selected his pall bearers, and the minister for the funeral. Fatheree and Wallace, undertakers were called from Erick. (29 Dec 1904, Thursday, Erick Enterprise, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Fred Blouenblust, whose farm lies 12 miles north across North Fork in Roger Mills county and in the famous Sweetwater valley, was born in Switzerland 43 years ago. His father afterwards moved to the United States, settling in Kansas when it was yet a frontier, where he raised a family of twelve children and where Frederich (sic) received his training and education and where he lived until four years ago when he came to Oklahoma to look for a new home. The subject of this sketch spent much time and money looking over Oklahoma to find a location where he could settle a colony of German people, he having married a Miss Forier, who was German. Having located and filed where he now lives, he has lost no opportunity to locate one of his nationality near him until now he has quite a colony of Germans living around him, who are among our best and most enterprising citizens. They have built up a nice church house in which they worship, every one of whom is very devoted to their creed and religion. Mr. Bohnenblust (sic) is a very pious man and is doing all he can to elevate humanity, is a leader in the church and superintendent of their Sunday school and does everything in his power to improve the morals of the young. He is a good citizen and will sacrifice anything for the benefit of his community and his people. He has a valuable piece of land and says that it is not for sale, but if he should sell he would not take less than $3,000 for it.
