(16 May 1929, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Our dear Friend and Brother, Harold Borin passed to his eternal reward at one o'clock Saturday, May 11th, 1929. He was born June 5th, 1905 at Lawrence, Nebraska. Professed faith in Christ when eight years old and joined the Methodist Church at that time. He moved with his parents to Erick, Oklahoma, and united with the First Methodist church of Erick, Oklahoma, December 26th, 1921. Some ten months ago while in California he had the misfortune of getting his leg crushed in an accident. After remaining in California for six months under treatment of competent physicians, Mrs. Borin brought him home last November. From my first visit to see him there was an acquaintance that grew into friendship that will live on. He made many friends, and succeeded in keeping them. He was one with a cheerful disposition. Had a smile and a good word for every one. He rarely appeared to be sad, even after his last accident. For him life appeared to have a hopeful outlook. To him the future was bright and he always looked for something better beyond. Tired and worn by his last brief illness, his body now rests in peace. At four o'clock, Sunday we carried his body to the church, there surrounded with a beautiful floral offering and his dear ones and a great company of friends. In memory of his cheerful life his pastor paid a beautiful tribute to his patience and sunny disposition even in the hours of his last suffering. To say that in his going we feel no sorrow and experience no loneliness would be far from the truth. However, with the sorrow and loneliness there is mingled a full measure an abiding and genuine joy. He departed this life May 11th, 1929. CARD OF THANKS. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Borin wish to take this opportunity to thank their many kind friends for the kindness and favors rendered during the illness and death of their loved one.
