BROOKS, TREAVER OSWELL
(1 Feb 1906, Greer County Record, Erick, Beckham County, Ok):
Died.  Of membranous croup, little Treaver Oswell Brooks, son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. H. Brooks, at the family residence in Erick January 27, 1906, aged
three years and two months.  He had always been in excellent health until
eleven days prior to his death, when he contracted the dreaded membranous
croup.  Great hopes were entertained after the third day, for he seemed to
rally, but the ninth day he grew worse and on the eleventh day he died.
A little more than five months ago, the grim reaper visited that home,
claiming little Erma.  During his sickness Treaver said to his mother as
she held him in her arms that he was going to see his darling little
sister whom God had taken away from him.
Funeral services were conducted by Bro. Slaten at the family home, where a
large number of sympathizing friends had assembled, Sunday afternoon at 3
o'clock, and his little body was laid to rest in the Erick cemetery.
