Drury McClure Carson, born October 30th, 1877, died June 2nd, 1926. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Tabernacle, Thursday, today, June 3rd, at 3 p.m. Interment Erick Cemetery. D. G. Fatheree, Funeral director. Mr. Carson took suddenly ill last Tuesday and was immediately taken to the Erick Hospital where he underwent an operation Saturday for stomach trouble. He was considered improving nicely and ate a hearty breakfast Wednesday morning and died soon afterwards. An obituary will be given in next weeks issue of the Democrat. Drury McClure (Kit) Carson was born in Tennessee, October 30, 1877, and died in the Erick Hospital June 2nd, 1926, age 48 years, 7 months and 3 days. He moved to Oklahoma at the age of twenty-two years and has resided in Erick and adjoining community for the past nine years. He was married to Miss Cathrine Newsom, October 9, 1904. To this union three children were born. Bro Carson was converted at Spring Creek in Beckham County 13 years ago and united with the Baptist church. Since his conversion he has lived a consecrated cristian (sic) life. He has served as Sunday school superintendent, deacon and other important positions. He has been a devout and tireless worked in the Erick Baptist church since becoming a member of it. His presence and service will be greatly missed by the entire church, but we submit to Him who doeth all things well.
