CHANEY, WILLIAM HENRY
(16 Nov 1922, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
W. H. Chaney Dead.  The body of W. H. Chaney, better known as "Kid"
Chaney, who conducted a grocery store in the building now occupied by the
Democrat, for several years, was brought to Erick last Tuesday, he having
died at Mexia, Texas, last Friday.
The body was taken to Vinson Wednesday by members of the Masonic Lodge and
buried.
Many of our citizens will remember Mr. Chaney, as a man, of remarkable
energy and one of those pioneers bye gone days.  He was always ready to
lend a helping hand to the needy, and always had a pleasant word for
everybody.  One by one the old boys go, but their memory will linger with
us until the reaper calls us all, to travel that road from which no
traveler 'ere returns.

NOTICE TO CREDITORS.
All persons having claims against W. H. Cheney (sic), deceased, are
required to present the same, with the necessary vouchers, to the
undersigned Administratrix at Law office of W. T. Bingham, Erick, Oklahoma
within four months of the date hereof, or the same will be forever barred.
