Mrs. Nannie Coffey, wife of Luther Coffey, died last Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at her home in Southeast Erick after having been ill only a few days. Mrs. Coffey was in the full bloom of young womanhood about 23 years of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Smith who live in the vicinity of Vinson, Okla. She was a dutiful daughter, a devoted wife and mother and was universally beloved because of her charming personality and wholesome hospitality. Her untimely death is more saddening owing to the fact that because of it two sweet children, a little girl of three years and an infant son are left motherless. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian Church by Rev. Henderlight and interment was made in the Erick Cemetary (sic). In this hour of deepest gloom Mr. Luther Coffey, his two sweet children and other surviving loved ones in the circle of those to whom Mrs. Coffey was near and dear have the heartfelt sympathy of every one with whom she came in contact in her busy life, as they can in a measure, realize how great must seem the bereavement caused by the death of one who occupied such an important place in their life relationship and association. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
