All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ COX, HUGH BENNETT (5 Jun 1930, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Hugh Bennett Cox was born July 31st, 1873, in Grayson County, Texas. Died May 29th, 1930, at Vinson, Oklahoma. He was married to Miss Bettie Hyatt, July 24th, 1889, in Young county, Texas. To this union was born four girls and one boy; Mrs. A. E. Woodridge, of Vinson, Oklahoma; Mrs. N. A. Finley of Vinson; Mrs. C. L. Merritt, of Shamrock, Texas; H. D. Cox, of Vinson, Oklahoma; Miss Myrtle Cox, preceeded her father in death nine years ago. Mr. Cox was converted July, 1905 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was received into the fellowship of the church at that time. He had been in poor health for sometime until death came and relieved him of his suffering. Mr. Cox leaves two sisters: Mrs. Mary Hayter, of Grady, N.M.; Mrs. L. D. Hawkins, of Canute, Oklahoma; two brothers, W. M. Cox, Erick, Oklahoma; and J. M. Cox, of Pampa. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. N. Wilson, assisted by Rev. L. D. Hawkins at the M. E.
