CUPP, MARTHA A.
(3 Jan 1929, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
On last Friday, December 28th, at 12:45 a.m. the death angel visited the
home of Mrs. Armourtrout at Manhattan, Kansas and took her dear mother,
Mrs. Martha A. Cupp.  Mrs. Cupp was very well known here she having lived
at Erick eleven years.  She was born March 31st, 1855.  Married J. H. Cupp
in 1872; to this union was born ten children, her husband and 4 children
having preceded her in death.  She had been visiting her daughter, and
while there took sick, which developed into pneumonia and she only lived a
few days.  All was done that loving hands could do, but as she had already
lived her three score and ten years, God called her to Him.
She was converted at an early date and had lived a faithful consecrated
life.  She was a member of the First Baptist church here.  Her body was
shipped back to Erick, Saturday and funeral services was held at the
Baptist Tabernacle, Sunday, December 30, 1928 at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Davis,
officiating.  She leaves two daughters and four sons to mourn her
departure, namely, W. W. Cupp, of Excelsion Springs, Mo.; Mrs. C. L.
Redburn of Hutchinson, Kansas; Mrs. C. W. Armourtrout of Manhatten,
Kansas; C. M. Cupp of Meridian, Oklahoma and L. H. Cupp of Erick.
We extend condolence to the bereaved relatives and friends in this sad hour.

Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Street and children and Jim Cupp of Alanreed, Texas,
attended the funeral of their aunt Mrs. Cupp, here Sunday.
Mrs. Leona Staggs of Oklahoma City was here Sunday to attend the funeral
of her grandmother, Mrs. M. A. Cupp.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Armantrout of Manhatten, Kansas, and Mrs. C. L.
Redburn of Hutchinson, Kansas, were here to attend the funeral of their
mother, Mrs. Martha A. Cupp which was held at the Baptist Church last
Sunday.
Will Cupp of Excelsion, Mo., arrived in Erick, Saturday night with the
body of his deceased mother, Mrs. Martha A. Cupp.
Mr. Frank Staggs of Shamrock attended the funeral of Mrs. Cupp Sunday.
Ernest Stewart of Littlefield, Texas came in Sunday for the funeral of his
aunt, Mrs. Cupp.
