DAVIS, H. W. "Wince"
(13 Mar 1930, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
"WINCE" DAVIS PASSES AWAY.
H,. W. (Wince) Davis, 53, died at his home, 3 miles east of Erick, Tuesday
afternoon at 3:30 o'clock following a lingering illness of pelegra.
He was born in Dalton, Georgia, September 3rd, 1876 and moved to this
community some 14 years ago and at the time of his death was owner and
operator of a gas filling station on his farm some 3 miles east of this
city on "66" highway.
He was a consistant (sic) member of the Christian Church and a man with
many noble traits and character.
Besides his wife deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hess
and four sons, Roy, Allen, Eugene and J. W. Davis.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock in the
Church of Christ, of Erick, conducted by Rev. John O'Dowd.  Burial was in
Erick cemetery under the direction of G. D. Fatheree.
