DOSS, INEZ
(7 Jun 1906, Greer County Republican, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Little Inez Doss, the infant daughter of Dr. and Mrs. George W. Doss died
last night about 11:30.  She had been suffering for a few days with
whooping cough, aggravated by a severe attack of dysentery and despite the
most vigilant attention of Drs. Heldman Wells, Warford and her father, her
little body became more and more weakened until the end came.
Surely the heartfelt sympathy of everyone in this community goes out to
Dr. and Mrs. Doss in this time of their grief.  Their little darling was
born about eleven months ago and at the time the mother's life was held in
the balance for days but her life was preserved and hope and contentment
was theirs until the probability of this bereavement became apparent.  May
the comforting ministrations of a loving Heavenly Father, whom both these
parents serve, be by them realized in a larger sense.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Jno. F. Elder will be held this
afternoon at the Baptist church at 3 o'clock, and all that is mortal of
little Inez Doss will be interred in the Erick cemetery.  Her spotless,
uncontaminated soul is now with Him who sent her to bless and brighten for
a short period the lives of a good man and a good woman, and they, we are
sure, will become reconciled to his taking to himself their darling to be
with him in glory forever.

Born to Dr. and Mrs. Dr. Doss on last Monday, a fine girl.  This is their
first, and the doctor behaves very strangely since the arrival of his
first born.  The Enterprise stops just here to extend a hand of
congratulation and claims at least the cigars from the doctor; for all
young fellows cheerfully "sets 'em up" after the arrival of their first
born.  Yes, doctor, we will take a cigar on you.  (This includes the typo
too.)
