All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ EVANS, MINNIE (24 Oct 1929, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Mollie Mayes, Miss Pauline and Mary Gardenhire, left Saturday for Los Angeles, Califor. to be with their sister Mrs. Evans who is seriously ill. News was received Monday morning of the death of Mrs. E. E. Evans. Mrs. Evans is a sister of Mrs. Mollie Mayes and is well known in Erick. Obituary. Mrs. E. E. Evans who formerly lived in Erick and is well known in this vicinity, died at her home in Los Angeles, California, October 13th. Her death was caused from injuries she received in a car accident which occured (sic) several months ago. All that loving hands and medical skill could do to save her was done but the grim reaper claimed his toll. The funeral services were held at the Little Flower Glendale church, by Rev. McMenus, and a large crowd of friends and relatives accompanied the remains to their last meeting place. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, and daughter Moletia Mae; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Gardenhire, Yuma, Arizona; four sisters and four brothers; Mrs. S. M. Buffut, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Mollie Mayes, Erick, Oklahoma; Miss Pauline Gardenhire, Los Angeles, Miss Ruby Gardenhire, Pittsburg, Pa.; Mr. B. F. and H. C. Gardenhire, Los Angeles, A. B. Gardenhire, Jr., and Lloyd Gardenhire, Yuma, Arizona, Nephew R. V. Mayes, Jr. of Erick also one Uncle Henry Bailey, McLean, Texas, who were all present at the funeral except Miss Ruby, who was unable to attend. October 25th, 1929 - Whereas, God in infinite wisdom, saw fit to take from us our sister, Minnie Evans, Resolved, that we drape our Charter thirty days, furnish a copy to the Erick paper, and to the family, knowing how weak and fruitless might be any words that we might attempt to say to the bereaved family at such loss.
