Everrett (sic). Died at his son's, Arthur Everrett's, five miles southwest of town, on last Sunday night, after only a few days confinement to his bed, Joel E. Everett, at the age of 69 years. He was one of the pioneer business men of this down, having started the J. E. Everrets & Sons' mercantile establishment here a short time after the town was started. He was an ex-Confederate veteran and was a man of true moral worth, having lived and done as he would that others should do unto him, and had thereby held the respect and esteem of all who knew him. He leaves one daughter and two sons here and one daughter and two sons in Alabama to mourn his death, but they have the sympathy of all in this community.
