On January 2nd, 1929, at 3:15 a.m., the death angel visited the home of J. S. Flowers and took his loving companion Pearl Flowers. She was taken sick suddenly Christmas day with a paralytic stroke and never regained consciousness, all was done that could possibly be done but to no avail. She was born May 18, 1884 in Texas and Married J. S. Flowers November 29th, 1901. To this union ten children were born, four already passed to the great beyond, she leaves a husband J. S. Flowers, 1 son, Jack Flowers, and five daughters, Mrs. Stella Hill and Mrs. Allie Hill, and Mrs. Victoria Davis, Hazel Flowers and Golda Flowers, all of Erick. She was well known in the Erick vicinity having lived here all her married life. Funeral services were held at the house, at Erick, January 2nd, at 3 p.m., and interment was made in the Erick Cemetery. In as much as death has entered our rank and has claimed our sister Pearl Flowers, who has been a member with us for five years, therefore be it resolved, that we, The Lela Hill Advent Christian Church extend to the bereaved husband, children and loved ones our deepest sympathy in this sad hour, and be it.
