All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ GALLAWAY, JOY ELISE (16 Feb 1928, Thursday, Erick, Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Saturday morning about 5 o'clock the death angel came in to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Galloway (sic) and plucked away their daughter, Joy Elise, lovingly called "Baby Joy", who had only been with them 4 years 6 months and 2 days. She was sick only a short time with the croup, and after all that loving hands could do; God could not see fit to spare her and the little bud only bloomed on earth to blossom in heaven. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Tabernacle Sunday evening at 3:00 P.M. conducted by Rev. S. N. Wilson, assisted by Rev. A. R. Hutchinson. Twelve little playmates carrying flowers followed her to her last resting place, were; Gloria Sue and Catherine Lou Ivester, Melitia and Bee Brady, Mary Nell Hamilton, Edna Mae Perkins, Sue Vise, Bobbie Sue Dean, Elba Lloyd, Therese Mudd, Helen Gibbs and Katherine Simmons. Pall bearers, W. R. Hood, J. A. Ivester, L. E. Perkins and Bud Lewis. (Other notes:) Mr. and Mrs. Oria Todd and Children of Amarillo came in Saturday to attend the funeral of the formers niece little Baby Joy Gallaway. Mr. and Mrs. E. M.
