He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Gallegly; one great-grand-mother, Mrs. Susan T. Brown; two grand-mothers, Mrs. J. L. Gallegly and Mrs. S. R. Warren; one grand-father, J. L. Gallegly; three aunts, Mrs. Ursie Gallegly Derosset, of Overton, Texas; Miss Glennie Gallegly and Mrs. Lillie Stayton, of Erick; one uncle John Gallegly of New York City, New York; and three cousins, Maxie Merle Stayton, Robert Stayton and James Stayton, of Erick; and a number of other near relatives and innumerable host of friends. The heart-broken father and mother are to be commended for making every possible effort from the human stand-point in their noble desire to save and prolong life. Man's extremity was reached, but God came and took him out of his pain and agony. Bill loved his school, and his school-mates devotedly and in his greatest pain and agony, he spoke of them in most endearing terms, longing to be back at his place of duty in the school-room and on the gridiron. The B.Y.P.U. of which Bill was a member, with their leader Mrs. A. G. Gillum, attended in a group, while in the audience were his classmates and friends. The large crowd and the wealth of floral offerings were mute testimonials of love and sympathy and the fact that all the business houses in the city were closed for the service was a fitting tribute to the departed as well as the family to whom the hearts of all go out in kindly sympathy. The funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church, Tuesday afternoon, December 2, Rev. W. A. Roberts, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Erick cemetery, with the Fatheree Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. ---------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
