All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ GIBBS, HARRY (25 Feb 1926, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Harry Gibbs, twenty-five (year) old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Blancett, died at his home in Los Angeles, California, Friday, February 19th, 1926. The cause of his death was from being overcome by artificial gas fumes. He having retired the night before was found dead in his room the next morning. The remains were shipped here Tuesday, accompanied by the deceased sister, Mrs. Dottie Quackenbush and brother Bobbie Blancett. Rev. J. W. Glance, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Elk City conducted the funeral services, and the body was laid to rest with military honors, confered (sic) by the Erick Post and American Legion, (he having served in the U. S. Navy a number of years). A large number of friends attended the funeral of Harry Gibbs, who spent his boy-hood days in Erick and is remembered by a host of Erick people. He leaves besides his parents brothers and sister, a wife of four months, who greatly grieve his death. CARD OF THANKS.
