All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ GIBSON, WILLIAM DEWEY (5 Dec 1918, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): William Dewey Gibson was born in Popular Springs, Tenn., March 11, 1898. He moved from there with his parents to Oklahoma in 1900 where he remained until Nov. 3, 1918, where he was called to the government service and went to Louisville, Ky. to work in the Cantoonments where he took the Spanish Influenza and afterward the pneumonia. Returned home Nov. 18, 1918 and died Saturday morning Nov. 30, 1918, at seven forty-five. He has left to mourn his loss, father and mother, five (sisters) and one brother, all of Erick, Okla., and a host of friends who regret his loss. Funeral services were held at the Delhi Cemetery Nov. 30, 1918 at four-thirty p.m., by Rev. J. L. Davis of Sayre and the remains were laid at rest in the Delhi Cemetery at five-thirty p.m. Card of Thanks. We wish to express our sincere thanks to the good people of Erick and the surrounding country who so kindly assisted in the sickness and death of our dearly beloved son and brother.
