GROVES, B. D.
(14 Aug 1930, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
B. D. Grove (sic), 48, residing three blocks west of north Main street on
the section line, died at his home Wednesday morning at 3:00 o'clock,
following a short illness that came upon him some time late Tuesday night.
Altho he had been in more or less ill health for some years the death of
Mr. Groves came as a surprise to his family and friends.  A musician of
some note he had been invited to play Tuesday for a dance some miles in
the country and after participating some two hours he confided to his
associates that he was feeling sick and decided to return to town and to
his home.  A physician was called who administered to the patient but due
to the severe heart strain medical assistance was unavailing and he passed
away at the hour above mentioned.
He is survived by his widow and two sons; Clyde and Avery, and two
daughters, Mrs. Marie Collins and Pearl Grove(s), all of whom were present
when he died.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home,
conducted by Rev. Arlie G. Hurt; pastor of the First Christian church, of
which deceased was a member.
Interment was in Erick cemetery under the direction of D. G. Fatheree,
Funeral Director.
